Provincial Strategic Threat Analysis

The Provincial Strategic Threat Analysis is a map that displays forest fuels with the potential to spot wildfire back into Wildland Urban Interface areas. The analysis specifically looks at:

• interface areas,
• fire risk,
• fire behaviour potential,
• combined risk / fire behaviour, and
• spotting potential into the Wildland Urban Interface.

The first provincial coverage was completed in December of 2004. This information is available free of charge to applicants wishing to develop Community Wildfire Protection Plans. In addition to providing this inormation to local governments, the Protection Program has also provided this data to Indian and Northan Affairs Canada and Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness Canada.

The PSTA data is available in two ways.

Communities and regional districts developing Community Wildfire Protections Plans can request specific data through this site.
