Research

There are research projects looking into various aspects of fuel management. Currently in B.C. there is a focus on
Mountain Pine Beetle and its potential effects on communities and fire suppression capabilities. There are also
projects looking at various fuel management treatments and equipment that can be used therein. Research is carried
out and supported by the Ministry of Forests and Range, the Canadian Forest Service, Forest Engineering Research
Institute of Canada (FERIC), private companies, colleges, and universities.
